How It Works

The Bible

The Bible is our central resource. We encourage all students to have a personal copy of the Bible. If you don't have one and need assistance in getting one, please contact us at Admin@IMFish.Net. Our lessons refer you to Bible passages that speak to each lesson topic. It is helpful if you use your own Bible to look these passages up - to get familiar with where things are in the Bible and to see each passage in its full context.

Because we do not want to create any stumbling block to your study, we also include an online link to every passage as well. If you don't have a Bible, or it's not handy when you want to do our lesson, just clicking on the link will open a new window with that passage from the wonderful online Bible at Gospelcom.

If you use this tool, we encourage you to leave the Bible window open and move back and forth between that window and the lesson window. Each time you click a new Bible passage link in the lesson window, that passage will be loaded into the Bible window. For the broader context of each passage, there is a "This chapter" link in the Bible window.

The Lesson

When you have looked up the Bible reference, we ask inductive questions to lead you to self-discovery of the Biblical truth found in that passage. You give us your answers by filling in a web form.

Many of the answers call for filling in a blank with a word or a short phrase:

John 11:35 This verse is famous for being the in the Bible.

Others ask you to choose one or more answers from a multiple choice list:

Which of the following did Jesus say?

A. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
B. The Father and I are one.
C. God helps those who help themselves.
D. Blessed are the meek.

This is pretty easy, isn't it? Yes No

If we are looking for a longer "essay" answer, we'll give you more space, like this:

When you have completed the lesson, you will send your answers to your teacher by clicking on an icon like this:

The Response

Your teacher will send you an e-mail recapping your answers to the lesson, along with comments and a link to the Teaching Summary for that lesson. If you have additional questions, a continuing e-mail dialogue with your teacher will allow you to dig deeper.
